No matter how you slice it, we all have 24 hours in a day, so the key lies in learning to use our time wisely. By mastering your time, you can accomplish much more with less effort.
Prioritize
When you prioritize your tasks, you’ll make sure that you are tackling the items that matter the most. Create a system that works for you by asking key questions, like;
- Which items can be rescheduled?
- Which items can be eliminated?
- What items must be done today?
- What can be delegated?
Be Organized
Follow your own organizational style. When things are tidy, you end up saving more time and ultimately letting you focus on the task at hand. Projects should be organized in order of importance. The more organized you are the more you will be able to accomplish.
Avoid Interruptions
It is difficult to complete tasks when you are constantly being interrupted. Once you begin a task, try to finish it to the end. If something comes that you need to remember or do, unless it’s urgent, simply add it to you list and continue on with your current project.
Learn to say NO
Be strong and uphold your personal boundaries. Take back control of your time. You’ll feel more productive and happier when you are well rested and taking the time off you deserve. Before you say yes, as yourself these questions:
- Does it invade on your personal time?
- Does it fit in with your list of priorities and goals?
- Will it be profitable?
- Do you really have the time or energy to do that extra task?
Focus on activities that closely match with your goals. Be more picky about how you spend your time. When you take the time to manage your time, you will enjoy an abundance of success and happiness.
